United States of America

Short of being designated an official or unofficial job-title or departmental professional designation (not title), position of state or event, on occasion the Office of the President of the United States or the US Congress will recognize someone with the Honorable title, Goodwill Ambassador of the United States.

Goodwill Ambassador of the United States of America

This is a special honorary title that is awarded by the President of the United States, it can also be awarded by the Speaker of the House on the behalf of the US Congress. It is normally awarded to an individual that can serve actively on the behalf of the United States based on their celebrity status or fame as an American icon. Making a goodwill ambassador is a non-partisan act and may result in special diplomatic status. There are both honorary and official uses of goodwill ambassadors for the United States.
